Starting May 27 to May 29, 2009, Cebu Pacific Airlines will be having a 3-day seat sale for both domestic and international travels.

Cebu Pacific launches a 3-day seat sale starting now until May 29, 2009 with fares as low as P588 for domestic and P1,388 for international flights valid for travel from July 1 to August 31, 2009. Cebu Pacific is allocating more than 200,000 seats for this seat sale.

A one-way ‘Go Lite’ fare of P1,388 is yours to fly from Clark to Singapore, Hong Kong, Macau, and Bangkok; Manila to Bangkok, Guangzhou, Ho Chi Minh, Hong Kong, Kota Kinabalu, Kuala Lumpur, Macau, Shanghai, Singapore, and Taipei; Cebu to Hong Kong and Singapore.

There is also a P2,288 one-way ‘Go Lite’ fare for flights from Manila to Incheon (Seoul) and Cebu to Incheon, Busan, and Jakarta services.

For domestic flights, CEB’s one-way ‘Go Lite’ fare only charges P1,388 all-in for Manila to General Santos, Davao, Cotabato, Zamboanga, Butuan, Cagayan de Oro, and Dipolog; Cebu to Clark and Davao to Iloilo.

All other local destinations carry a one-way fare of P588 all-in. Domestic fares are all-inclusive; international fares are exclusive of government taxes. Promo fares are non-refundable. ‘Go Lite’ fares are for passengers traveling with no check-in baggage. Passengers with check-in bags just have to add P200 to the fare.

The Chocolate Hills in Bohol is one geologic phenomena most people know little of. Here’s one of the more accepted scientific explanation about it as printed in a bronze plaque at the top of the Chocolate Hills Complex View Deck.

About 2 million years ago, most of the island of Bohol was below a shallow sea coral reefs, similar to those now found offshore of Northern Bohol, thrived and extensibly covered the sea floor. During stormy days, fragments of coral and shells derived by waves from the reefs were deposited were mostly deposited in the landward side of the reefs. The coral and shell fragments formed relatively thin layers surrounding the live coral reefs.

Slowly, the land rose causing the coral reef formation to emerge out of the sea. The taller arrows shown in the diagram indicate that the southern sections of Bohol island have been uplifted more than the northern section.

The Chocolate Hills have been carved out from the relatively thin layers of coral and shell fragments. Gullies were developed in the low lying areas and lakes occupied pre-existing depressions.
